This is a little off the beaten path, but I just know if you are anything like me, sometimes you just need something simple and delicious.

Even "Little STRUCTUREbags" loves this recipe, adapted from a cookbook (disclaimer: she is the least picky eater I've ever seen, and has even prompted Pop to say people would pay money to have their kid eat the way she does...). That said, although it is really easy, the result is somewhat elegant.

So, prep it & forget it. Then ask a friend over and wow her! Let me know when you try it: share a picture, comment on the flavor, tell me how you've tweaked it. Or, send your favorite slow-cooker recipe in and maybe I will try it and share it! Happy Winter days.
